Shrubs planted round the green last year (2020) and this year. Patrick made the trugs see below. more photos to show the wonderful Nemesia which Marion grew and planted, every colour imaginable
Alan blowing up the doll to try to scare the rooks off the green as they are after the leatherjacket larvae living just under the grass. The doll has since been dressed in Alan's old pyjamas and been awarded the judo black belt, signified as black masking tape!

Marie Clarke, Alan Waters and Lewis Ambler won the Shield for Downton for the first time. This event has run for over 20 years.

Above, pictures of the sprinkler system in action on a warm sunny day, the arrival of, the top dressing, the top dressing work party and finally the 'shed' as installed, before being made respectable. We always need volunteers to help with the big jobs, as you could say 'never has so much been achieved by so few'
